The question was how to prepare a car finish and clear coat it to ensure the artwork stays protected. Wipe with wax and grease remover 2. Tack off with tack rag 3. Artwork, Airbrush, Etc. 4. Unmask 5. Wipe again with wax and grease remover 6. Tack surface with tack rag 7. Apply tack coat of clear (optional) 8. Apply 2 full wet or recommended coats of clear Be sure to allow clear coat to flash the recommended time between coats. Overlap each coat 50% with your spray pattern. Keep your spray gun parallel to the surface being sprayed. Wear approved respirator Wear gloves when clearing You may also want to spend more time with the airbrush. In this example, I think some red would have looked good on the flames.
