3. So… how much time & money is spent on repainting?

Your Answer:  If it can be repaired, you should always repair rather than replace.

That is not correct.  Just because it can be repaired does not mean that would be the best method.  If it is less expensive to replace it, that would be the better method.

Here is how I answered the question: I am demonstrating how to repair the dent.  However, you should always consider if it would be better to replace or repair.  For example, if the cost of the fender is $85 and the dent is a 3 hour dent.  At $50 per hour, the repair would cost $150 and replacement would cost $85.  In this case replacement would be the better choise.  Another consideration is PDR.  Can the panel be repaired with PDR and would that cost less than replacement.  Many different things to consider.
